"Animals"
The teacher: Lyssenko S.I. Subject: English Form: 5 The theme: "Animals" The aims: 1. To practice pupils' oral speech through the various kind of exercises; to practice pupils' skills in reading and writing; 2. To develop pupils' mental abilities and imaginative skills. 3. To teach to work individually and in groups; to awake pupils' love in nature. Type of the lesson: Activation of lexis Aids: stickers, markers, posters, cards.
Lesson procedure
I. Organization moment.
- Hello, pupils. - Hello, teacher. - How are you? - Fine, thank you - Sit down, please
II. Phonetic drills ■
The rhyming twins and sounds (T - Ps). Pupils repeat after the teacher a dog and a frog a monkey and a donkey a cat and a bat a tortoise and photos.
III. Consolidation of lexis.
1. T - Ps Question — answer work T: What's your dog's (cat's, frog's, horse's) name? P1: My dog's name is Barsik. ( Silver, Sandy, Pussy and Jumpy) 2. "The Balloons".
Make up words with mixed balloons ( with letters) e.g.: frog, spider, cat, fox ... 3. "Change a letter" Ps change letters and make up words (animals).

5. "Food" Ps fill in words instead of pictures. (P1,P2, P3) (Ps read the sentences a loudly and completely write the words. 1. The dog has got a [ bow 1]. 2. The cat likes a [ fish]. 3. The rabbits don't like [cakes]. 4. Does the giraffe like [chips]? 5. Monkeys and tigers like [bananas]. 6. [Apples] are for horses. 6. 7. "Classter” Ps write adjectives

8. "Parts of the body" P1,P2,P3 (visuals)
Ps comment the pictures and complete the sentences( numbering). P1: Number one is a frog's head. P2: Number two is the rabbit's legs. P3: Number three is the fox's tail. P4: Number four is the horse's legs. P5: Number five is the giraffe's body.
9. "What's wrong?"
Ps find the mistakes in pictures, comment and write. PI: A parrot (hasn't got a tiger's body) P2: A monkey (hasn't got an elephant's body) P3: A lion (hasn't got the rabbit's legs and ears and tail) P4: The dog (hasn't got the horse's legs)
10. "Puzzle time" (a circle) Pupils circle the colours and describe the animals, greenineyellowbrownelephantigeredbiackwhhe………………………………… e.g.: The bee is yellow and black.
11. "Scanword”

13."Countries" Pupils write the names of countries and say where their pets are from.
(Ireland, Germany, France, Italy)
P1: My cat is from France. P2: My horse is from Italy. P3: My dog is from Turkey. P4: My white bear is from Germany. P5: My tortoise is from Ireland 14. Monologue "My pet" Pupils tell about their pets. (PI, P2, P3...) IV. Giving feedback and assessment V. Giving hometask: Composition "My pet."
